NanoXcel2 - Lightest Hull and Deck in the industry
Yamaha's SVHO powered watercraft are now even faster, thanks to the introduction of NanoXcel2. A nanotechnology-engineered material that is even lighter than the previous version while maintaining the structural integrity the material has come to be recognized for. To create NanoXcel 2, Yamaha engineers innovated at the microscopic level using a combination of “nano” clay and glass micro-bubbles to develop a new stronger resin that uses less material. The glass micro-bubbles used in NanoXcel2 are smaller and stronger than other filler materials, contributing to the strength, rigidity and lightweight of the new hulls and decks. NanoXcel2 reduces the weight of the FZS by 15.8kg, a total weight saving of over 45kg over traditional hulls - making NanoXcel2 hulls, decks and liners the lightest in the industry.
Supercharged Super Vortex High Output (SVHO) 1812cc Engine
The new SVHO engine produces approximately 20% more power than before, and features improved cooling, more efficient intake, and stronger forged engine internals. The new, larger Hyper-Flow jet pump helps turn that power into electrifying acceleration, and the Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) gives smooth and efficient power output.
Top loader intake and 160mm, 8-vane high-pressure pump
A new top loader intake grate and a larger 160mm, 8-vane pump provide greater thrust and instantaneous water displacement to keep this machine hooked up and glued to the water in all conditions.
Watertight Storage
A watertight storage compartment is conveniently located under the seat, providing instant access to important items such as wallets, mobile phones and cameras.
Unique Telescopic Steering Adjustment
The 3-position telescopic steering column is a feature dedicated to the FZS allowing the rider to adjust their riding stance to match the conditions. Adopt the classic, forward leaning position or stand up for extra ride comfort in choppy waters. Switching naturally between the two positions is easy and instinctive.
Reboarding Step
The reboarding step on the FZS is designed to make climbing back on board as easy as possible, and then, just as easily, it tucks back into place when not in use.
Carbon Fibre Water Dipped Visor
Vital information is relayed directly to the rider via the gauges, which are wrapped with an all-new water-dipped carbon fibre visor; which adds a distinctive race-ready style.
Tow Hook
Providing yet another opportunity to enjoy the water, the tow hook allows for easy, secure towing.
Remote Transmitter
The easy-to-use remote transmitter not only activates Security Mode to prevent unauthorised startups, it also engages Low RPM Mode for increased fuel economy.
Race-Style Cockpit
Two large and stylish red-accented analogue meters reveal the racing spirit and true character of the FZS, providing a clear view of speed and RPM in a single glance. The rider can see and feel the craft responding to the slightest touch of the throttle.
Performance Hull
The incredibly strong and exceptionally lightweight NanoXcel2 hull has a dihedral shaped keel designed to achieve higher top speed, yet remains one of the best handling skis in the industry.
Quick-Shift Trim System (Q.S.T.S)
A comfortable twist-grip offers smooth, click-by-click control of five trim positions within a 24 degree range. Totally unique to Yamaha, the Q.S.T.S system helps riders make tight turns by allowing almost instant changes to trim on-the-fly.
Mechanical Reverse
Available on the FZS and FZR, Yamaha's Mechanical Reverse is simple, light-weight and direct-action. Pull the lever for reverse, push it back in for forward drive.
Forged Pistons
Newly designed forged pistons in the FZS are 30% stronger; aiding in performance and reliability.
